"While it's great to have a master's degree from Georgetown on paper, I would not say it's worth taking the time to go through this program. I was in the Design Management and Communications program at Georgetown University School of Continuing studies; it's new and it's a mess. First, curriculum-wise, they were not able to offer all of the courses listed in time for students who entered the first semester the program was open, so we either had to take classes outside of the program or just delay a semester. Second, they advertise themselves as being ideal for professionals, and many of my classmates were working while taking these programs. However, I don't think the professors were on the same page as what was being advertised. I am all for growth and learning, but I am also all for being realistic. There have been some classes where students are expected to go in depth in designing projects for real companies; additionally, we have to find people who are willing to meet and work with us in regards to their company for our school projects. Being in DC, we are surrounded by many government jobs, where many people are not allowed to share projects due to security reasons. Secondly, when involving people that are not in the program itself, it's very difficult to meet with them on their busy schedule while trying to fulfill project deadlines. In summary, some teachers expect you to meet their deadline while you are trying to work with various external people who you need for your own project. And it's simply really annoying and stressful to deal with, especially if you physically cannot provide certain private information! Next, for one particular core class, you will be forced to go buy various materials to complete silly games. Additionally, even if you follow what the rubric says and complete your assignments, the professor will go out of his way to look for ways to penalize you. Even when taking off points, it will not always be explained why; and even if he does explain why, if you have actually completed everything that he explains about, he will not care nor fix his mistakes. Again, unethical. Overall, I would highly recommend going to another program besides this one. Georgetown may look to have a great reputation, and I am sure for some programs, they're thriving, but for Design Management and Communications, save yourself and look the other way."

"Georgetown is a world-class institution in one of the most interesting and powerful cities in the country5360彩票平台. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there as an MSB undergraduate student. The MSB undergraduate program is well rounded and integrates well with the other three undergraduate schools. With the core curriculum, you will certainly meet tons of people in your class outside of your school. Extracurriculars are great there, as well! There is a club for literally anything you can think of (and if there isn't, it's really easy to start one). I love that Georgetown does not have a Greek life system - it forces you to make friends with people who have the same interests as you as you tend to meet like-minded friends through extracurriculars. Being in DC is amazing, as well. The neighborhood is really safe and it's easy to get to other places in DC."

"I had a great Georgetown experience, especially within the school of foreign service. The classes offered were pertinent and interesting, and the faculty always available to discuss any topic - whether that be related to their class or otherwise. Multiple professors were very helpful to me when seeking advice relative to post-graduation plans. There were also many opportunities to network!"

"Georgetown is absolutely a wonderful place to pursue your undergraduate education. It's not perfect, but it offers plenty of opportunities for both your career and your academic interests. I cannot speak highly enough of the School of Foreign Service (SFS), since the professors there are some of the best you'll find anywhere and are dedicated to making sure their students both understand and enjoy the material. Georgetown offers so much for any prospective student and I wouldn't trade my Georgetown experience for the world."

"The Culture & Politics major (CULP) within the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University is the perfect for students with diverse interests that may not feel like they fit neatly into any of the traditional undergraduate liberal arts majors. I loved CULP because it married an extremely strong foundation curriculum in government, economics, philosophy, history, and foreign language with the freedom to design my own academic path. I chose to study Social Justice and Human Rights and was able to study that topic through a variety of disciplines, including theology, women's and gender studies, anthropology, and international relations. Ultimately, CULP allowed me to tailor my degree to my interests as opposed to making me fit into a pre-constructed degree track."

I really think there is something to be said about going to a school with such a strong reputation, it has carried me in my post-grad life"

"Georgetown provides its student with quality education both inside and outside the classroom. With its commitment to "women and men for others" and various Jesuit values, a Georgetown student is always taught to put their education towards the service of the greater good. The amount of opportunities available outside the classroom setting both in terms of travel and extracurricular activities makes a Georgetown student equipped with both academic and entrepreneurial skills. The diversity and globalism of the student body provides a necessary space of interaction for a foreign service degree and trains students to be quite cosmopolitan. While some classes are academically traditional or conservative, a lot of the classes available in the foreign service degree are experimental and allow for a cross of various disciplines. Overall its one of the best schools to attend to get trained in international affairs."

"I recently graduated from Georgetown University in Washington DC this past May with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with Honors. What sets my degree apart from other disciplines is that it gives students the opportunity to explore multiple subject matters and open their eyes to how different subjects carry out the process of analytical thinking and inquiry. Accordingly, students such as myself develop a level of exposure to various social sciences such as economics, philosophy and politics and are able to digest information from different viewpoints. For example, over the course of my undergraduate career, I have been exposed to the works of a number of legal and social philosophers such as Marx, Mill, Austin, and Locke. What intrigued me with regards to the works of these scholars is that despite the difference in subject matter they were all united by the fact that they were attempting to apply structure to social realities. This notion piqued my interest especially with regards to the business realm and how consultancy plays a key role in ensuring the growth and sustainability of different firms. I was instantly drawn to the pursuit of a Msc in Sustainability Management degree and began my research and saw the strong emphasis that sustainability practices had on both the corporate social responsibility of firms as well as the individuals daily activities. My Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies allowed me to understand my specialized interests and allowed me to view Sustainability in light of different opinions, including the opposing aspect. It is the exposure to understanding perception that garners such a degree success in self-growth and analytical thinking."

"I decided to enroll in their Master's in Program and Portfolio Managment program. If you are an experienced professional in this field, my advice is to keep looking. The professor who envisioned this program is stellar. I cannot say that for the other so-called instructors. My advice is to save your money (which is quite a lot) and find another program that has been in existence for awhile. This is the first year for this program and it shows. Bugs in the technology, courses which are mirror images of each other, and so-called professor who need to realize they are instructing professionals with many years of experience in these fields. I cannot nor while I recommend this program to anyone."
